I knew something was going to happen around 4am on Friday 3/20 when I woke up with a big contraction. A few hours later there were some more signs, and at our 40 week checkup at 9am, our midwife said I was 4 cm dilated. Around 10am contractions started picking up, and I was able to work through them with breathing. I watched a lot of junk TV, and then when I couldn't do it on my own anymore, Dan stepped in and helped me through each contraction... we labored at home until about 8:30pm, first watching Oprah as a distraction, then listening to music, then with yoga poses, then hypnobirthing tracks... When we decided it was time to head to the hospital, in a mad dash between contractions, we packed up our things and headed out the door. Just as we pulled out of the driveway, my water broke! (Good thing Gina had given me a pad to protect the leather car seats!) The contractions were coming fast and furious, and when we got to the hospital at around 9:00pm, we rushed into our labor room, and found out I was at 8cm dilated! Just three short hours later, our beautiful baby boy David arrived...Saturday morning, 3/21 at 12:18am. The munchkin weighed in at 9.0 lbs, which caused the nurses to yell over to me "Congratulations, you just gave birth to a small toddler!" Here is a picture of me and my son our first few minutes together :) It's now my favorite picture ever taken :)

Happy Birthday David!
Cranbaby is here!!! And we are so happy to share this joyous event with all our Cranbaby blog followers! So this is the story of our baby's birthday....

Congratulations! That is an awesome photo..although you need to photo shop the toilet out of the photo, LOL. He is beatiful! So happy everything went well!
